South Queensferry
The Forth rail bridge is on the right, the road bridge far left and looking north to Fife in the middle across the Firth of Forth. Behind us is the Hawes Inn (see below!)
We decided to go by bus - what a mistake! It was not clear on the website but First bus were running an hourly service - not keeping to any particular timetable, just random. So we had a 40 minute wait on the way there and a 45 minute wait coming back. By the time we got there it had started raining a little and was perishing cold, so after a few shots we repaired to the Hawes Inn to warm up. The french onion soup and mulled cider hit the spot, then we returned to the bus stop for another cold wait.
Next time we'll take the car.
