Day sixty-seven: HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So, today is New Year's Day...welcome 2012!! :)

For the first time ever (at least to the best of my knowledge) I had an authentic, traditional Southern New Year's Day meal: black-eyed peas, collard greens (side note: they are much more palatable with hot sauce on top), ham, rice, and sweet potato pie. Evidently each of these foods will help assure prosperity, money, and good luck in a new year.

I don't believe all that, but it certainly cannot hurt to try ;) I had a great time and meal with my friends and am exceedingly optimistic about this new year of opportunity.

I cannot stop grinning :D
