Coming to an end...
Sad that our trip is coming to an end so soon....
We had a nice walk along the beach in the morning before heading off to breakfast at the Little Brown Hen. After breakfast we continued up the PCH and stopped off to grab some candy at the Lighthouse Chocolate Co - got greeted by the grumpiest people ever, but did leave with some tasty treats.....big peanut butter cup, seafoam (like the inside of a Crunchie, chocolate covered pretzel rod and some other goodies.
Off to Tillamook, OR afterward to taste some cheese (Tillamook is a popular dairy brand out here). We went to the Blue Heron French Cheese Co. and bought some chevre and some other little snacks for a picnic lunch. Then we visited the Tillamook factory (well, just went to the shop) and it was the most atrocious food place I have ever been (maybe I was exaggerating just a bit, but it was terrible) - hordes of people buying lots of useless junk and snacks and lining up like cattle (ha! pun intended) just to try little cubes of mediocre cheese. I will never go there again.
We had our picnic lunch on the pier in Girabaldi.
Off to the Surfside Inn in Seaside, OR. Seaside is an interesting little town, very different from Astoria - I just assumed it would just be a smaller version, but it is not, so don't be fooled. We settled into Norma's for dinner - it was like a seafood-y version of Denny's. It was absolutely atrocious and I couldn't bear to eat there, so we headed over to Funland to play some games for a bit. I have never seen a town so abandoned - there were some sad storefronts and restaurants, but this place was still crawling with tourists. We got a big bag of saltwater toffee with a place that boasted 100's of different flavors - probably don't need all of this sugar.
Finally had dinner at Dooger's and then back to our hotel for our last night of our roader.
