The new
8:30pm and watching television. Which isn't usual. But not unwelcome.
In the midst of a Sherlock marathon. Watched the final episode of the previous series in advance of this first episode of a new series.
As like many, I am conditioned to watching programmes recorded and not live, and usually on some box-set idea.
You mean I'll have to wait for the next episode? Pah.
Anyway, today has been a fun start to the year. Up after 8am again. But before 8:30, so that's progress. Took the dogs for a short run (they have short legs). We covered three miles, running for two of them.
Home for breakfast, laughs and a short wander 'round the block as a family, including the new baby (Lilla) in the new Pram.
Then lunch, trip to visit the 'rents and home again for tea.
Mrs theWeir off to work for the night too.
There's nothing new under the sun. It's all vapour and chasing after the wind. So King Solomon of ancient Israel once said.
We can occasionally get so caught up in the new that we forget what is. What is here. What is present. We (I) can be guilty of not treasuring what is while looking forward to what is promised.
Welcome to 2012. It's new and old.
