Tempered Accomplishments
Bob and I each had great accomplishments at the pool today.
Bob floated on his back unaided.
I returned to swimming for the first time in almost a year. I love to swim. However, after my health issues started, getting back in to the pool for one reason or another was very difficult. It was a warm day today with little potential for my fingers and toes to freeze off (from the Raynaud's Phenomenon). Before I got sick, I was doing 20-30 laps at a time. But the last time I swam in August or September last year, I could barely do 10. Today I did 16 laps and I was very proud of myself. I wore neoprene gloves that helped keep my fingers warm, a tip for fellow Raynaud's friends out there.
But because no day can be perfect, Bob got fussy at the end of his lesson. When I sat on the edge of the pool to get him, he promptly threw up all over the both of us. Poor little guy.
Once he got over the trauma, he seemed like himself again. He even had 2 more accomplishments - his first true shower (instead of a bath) and using the gym toilet. Now he is getting some well deserved rest.
