Goodbye 2011

We spent the late afternoon/evening with my brother and his family. We had lots of fun. We just chilled, watched the kids and chatted away.

My brother made an Oxtail potjie- it was divine. He did a superb job. And as for the Pavlova - I'm chuffed to say it was a huge hit. For my first one it came out great and the fresh fruits and cream tasted great.

The weather was between rain and shine but didn't stop the kids from swimming. When it got cooler they ducked inside and played some Xbox and watched DVD's. We didn't think to take anything warm along - but we survived when it got cool.

We got home before the major fireworks were shot off around the neighborhood. The dogs were happy to see us and everyone snuggled safely inside while it sounded like a war zone outside.
