Kelvingrove monuments

Every time I walk in Kelvingrove park I spot something I've not noticed before. This is a photo of a memorial marking the role of the Highland regiment in the African, or Boer war which ended in 1902. Now I thought I knew a bit about this war until I met and married my South African wife! My mother in law is also visiting us from Cape Town at the moment so at least in our house anyway, the Boers usually get their way...
