A Chapter in my Life

Keep the Home Fires Burning

We at last had a few hours of dry weather here today so we made the most of it. First of all we went for a stroll around Roath Park Lake, enjoying an ice cream as we walked, and then we went on to Cardiff Bay, having lunch in Harry Ramsden's. By coincidence, my brother and his family also happened to be in Harry Ramsden's which was nice.

The picture is of Peter Nicholas's memorial sculpture to Ivor Novello. I have a particular interest in the statue because Ivor Novello was a distant relative of my grandmother and also because I had contact with Peter Nicholas a number of years ago through my job. Peter was also responsible for the statue of Dr William Price, pioneer of cremation, in my hometown of Llantrisant. I have blipped about Dr Price before.
