An easy morning and a bracing/fresh air/get out of the house type afternoon. All good.

Listening to summat I picked up the other day in town, that double CD best of REM that was a bit of a bargain - 40 tracks for £7. I used to absolutely love this band, saw them a few times on the 'Green' tour with my mate Ivan at university. First ever hitch-hiking adventure was coming back from London after a gig of theirs, lots of formative experiences that come back to me when I listen to this stuff.

Their last few albums I paid little or no attention to, but the older ones, I knew them backwards.

Berry, Buck, Mills and Stipe, I treated your decision to split up with a shrug, but you gave me a lot of good times and a whole bunch of memories.
