Full Circle
For many people the first day of a new year marks the beginning of a fresh start.
Time for a new them, to redefine themselves. To start afresh, blot out mistakes and be wiser this time.
Which is great, in theory.
But look around- this world we live in: it's by no means perfect- we see that on the news, people witness it first hand every day.
Yet it, like you, was fearfully and wonderfully made. There have been countless moments when the Maker could have started afresh, given up and started again somewhere else. But He didn't. He kept it, warts and all. And He is bringing it full circle: one day, it'll be as it was made to be, and so will you.
So all these 'resolutions'... is the instant 'new you' really what the Maker intended you to be, or is He slowly, carefully and persistently moulding you and completing the work begun in you? I would suggest the latter, so remember that when you're choosing how to approach this new year.
You're a work in process, like the world. And that no matter the state of things, if you just stop to look you'll see beauty, you'll see things begin to come full circle.
