peanut butter

The Celtic misty atmosphere continues, very frustrating when we want to get out with our friends and show them the natural beauty of the place. So we headed for the Mizen Head in the hope that it might clear little, ha ha - we couldn't even see the sea from the cliff tops!
However it did clear enough at Barley Cove to get a blip. This is one (of many) of my favourite places in West Cork. There is a tiny black speck in the water somewhere, a hardcore surfer dude braving the elements. it was windy, cold and raining. I've developed a throaty/chesty thing and didn't feel well enough to go for a paddle with the others, so I left them with the hot choc, sloe gin and biscuits and headed back home to light the fire and snuggle down with a hot lemon.
At the beach someone had written 'butter' in the sand in big letters. The smart vegan amongst us prefixed it with peanut!
Later that evening I watched 'Kung Fu Panda' with Rosa and Theo. very good, very funny, very wise.
Phil excelled himself in the kitchen with his Nut Roast, which was scoffed appreciatively by all and washed down with plenty of fizz. I miraculously managed to feel well enough to eat a huge plateful. The healing power of good food and friends!
We made our own entertainment with a wee sing song, rather abstract band and a little folk(ish) dancing. Twas lovely it was.
We saw New Year together and then I collapsed into bed, leaving the old friends to catch up until about 5am.
Happy New Year blippers, wishing you peace and good health in 2012.
