happy new year

Not exactly traditional, we know, and not a good pik, but after all the seasonal roast turkey/duck/chicken/pork/beef festivities we thought it'd be nice to celebrate New Year's Eve with A CURRY NIGHT!
Great decision.
All our guests brought a truly fabulous curry and a great night was had, by us at least.
Now here in the kitchen by myself clearing up, really rather contentedly, thinking of the year past and the year to come, thinking about my loved ones sleeping upstairs and further afield in places and beds where I can imagine them.
I know that life cannot continue so securely and safely as it feels for this brief period tonight, but I'm hoping all our glasses will brim to the full in 2012.
P.S. Having my lovely sister Trish here tonight to bring in this new year has truly been a dream come true. Thanks babe.
