Not the comment when I submitted this photo for something (I certainly didn't!)
This is a photo taken from my car - which you can just see reflected- as we drove into Keswick. It shows the new flood defences which consist of a hightened wall and glass panels which allow people to see across the river Greta. It is at High Hill, the point where the river does a sharp turn and is apparently the first time that glass has been used as part of flood defences. As I explained recently High Hill is the lowest part of Keswick so the defences may well be required. Will they work? We'll let you know!
