Getting ready for New Years Eve

New Years Eve is a long and scary evening for most dogs and the Hazyland boys are no exception! I think Biscuit and Hero will be fine, but Whisper usually gets very unsettled around midnight when the fireworks are worst and Beat will most likely be terrified most of the evening.

We have done all we can, to make it as easy for them as possible though.

My friend Helle and I met at noon to train dogs and make sure they are all tired, so they can (hopefully) sleep through the evening and night.
It was great training for all dogs and we had a really good day.
The weather has been funny. It started out beautiful and we trained the first couple of dogs in wonderful sunshine, but suddenly a thick fog came in and it became cold and grey.

After traning, we took the dogs for a good run through the woods before Helle went back home.

The Hazyland boys have now had their dinner (Beat won't eat if he is scared, so I fed him as soon as we came in) and they are all sleeping.

The Queen's New Years Speech will be broadcasted on live TV in 30 mins. It is usually something everyone wants to see, so hopefully there will be half and hour of peace and quiet outside whilst she is on, so I can take the boys for their last walk in 2011 (on leash - I am not risking a dog running off in panic if a sudden loud bang scare them).

We'll be spending the rest of the night indoors with the TV on as loud as possible and some yummy treats within reach.

Top right: Hero got this blue rubber ring as a Christmas present from his sister Jazz and he loooooooves it, so he was very disappointed when he dropped it as he jumped up into my arms with it. No fun hanging in mum's arms, when the ring is on the ground!!! "Puuuut meeeee dooooooown!!!!

Happy New Year everyone. May it be a good one.
