Hopping around!

Closing The Gate on 2011

Quite nice large.

We've been out for a bit of good exercise this morning. According to my sportstracker programme the walk, during which I stopped ninety eight times to take ninety eight photos, caused my heart to beat above 250 beats per minute for most of the walk.

Ha, I am not superfit.....so I came home and did not contact the doctor but instead changed the battery in the heart rate monitor. My heart rate has returned to normal.

The gate reminded me of a family gathering, one New Year, when Mr H's mum was doing a massive 'holiday' crossword. One of the answers went right around the outside of the puzzle and was a quote from a poem by Minnie Louise Haskins, called 'At the Gate of the Year'.

'I said to the man that stood at the gate of the year 'Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown''. I think we all tread into the unknown every day really, whether we think we do or not.

Happy Hogmany!
