Green Eyes and Muddy Footprints

An after dark blip. It has been pouring rain all day long until now. There has been lots of coming and going today and I don't seem to have achieved very much, though this evening I walked down to visit my neighbours, Thomas and Anne. Better ones I could not wish for. This wonderful couple are dairy farmers and have four grown up , and now married, daughters, all of whom are equally charming.

When I moved here twenty four years ago they welcomed me into the community and their traditional farmhouse home is one of the most unpretentious and welcoming places that I know. We drank Cocacola and ate chocolate biscuits and chatted for about two hours. I'm so lucky to have such friends.
