National Museum Stockholm
The four boys and A visited the National Museum in Stockholm today, whilst C and I went shopping for souvenirs in Gamlastan. Today was a crisp, sparkling sunshiny, ice cold day!
The museum is huge and has the most spectacular staircases, C and I would never have made it to walk through it, the other five are totally knackered tonight!
M&Z made us lovely cinnamon sugar pancakes with cream, ice cream and a variety of berry jams, the choice of fillings was to die for! We had popcorn for a snack just now, and all are off to bed in a bit!
The choice for a blip tonight was no easy task! C&I took quite lovely snaps of the sunset, just after 3pm I dare say, and then about 30 mins later of city lights over the harbour, with two huge passenger ships in the harbour, with lights in each and every cabin window! Spectacular! Then R snr brought pics of the museum visit, zillions of them, and to top it all, he had lovely pics of swans in the harbour, the males 'dancing' to attract the attention of the females, absolutely gorgeous!
But this one won the prize to be blipped tonight! It is an original by Adolf Ulrik Wertmüller (1751-1811) of Queen Marie Antoinette of France and Two of her Children Walking in the Park of Trianon, 1785 ?.. and guess who had the honour of being in the picture with her and her kids?
