We decided to defy the weather forecast and try to squeeze in a walk around Cawood before the threatened rain arrived. It was muddy enough underfoot by the river without any more rain, but we made it back to the car before the heavens opened.



We also got to see Humpty Dumpty's wall! The nursery rhyme allegedly tells the story of Cardinal Wolsey's fall from favour with Henry VIII after failing to secure a divorce for the King. He was arrested for treason at his Castle at Cawood.
