Cardinal on a Cold Morning

I stopped for a short hike and photo shoot at Millbrook Marsh.

The boardwalk was quiet and deserted on a cold late-December morning (about 20 degrees F, or -7 degrees C).

A cardinal flew by me - a flash of red - and perched on a branch above me, his feathers all fluffed to stay warm. So nice to catch a glimpse of bright color on a cold December morning.
