Gift-giving joy.

Every Christmas (or any special occasion for that matter) it falls on me afresh just how deep a joy gift-giving brings. To think of, choose, home-make (or sometimes purchase), wrap and decorate a gift for each special person in my life brings enough joy. But, the joy of all joys is being with them when they open it - knowing that they know how much bespoke love, thought and creative time I put into it because I care about them so much to want to do that for them, and only them. Needless to say then, I certainly prefer giving than receiving.
