"Seejah Ninee"

The older ladies of Belo are some of the friendliest and most hard working people in the village. They are always working whether it is washing clothes, preparing food, collecting firewood or keeping their homes tidy. But they always have a smile on their faces. A simple greeting of "Seejah Ninee" in their native Kom dialect lights them up like a lantern. Their faces beam and they reply excitedly as they extend their hand to greet us and welcome us to their land. Seejah Ninee is simply a term of respect for an older lady.
