How would Cezanne paint it?
I have been on a Cezanne study in last few days and have ordered a couple of books for me, one on his watercolors and then the Loran study of his space and structures using photos and graphs. C. was and still is such a reported influence on so many painters, people whose work looks nothing like Cezanne's. So although I studied his work plenty while in school, I am back at it again.
The ways these walls and shapes within the large shape of the Cathedral express the "not quite right" in the world of perspective quality of C's work interests me. That quality is certainly why it appeals to me! As well as his color and brush work!
