All Dressed Up With No Place to Go
What's the deal, Algernon? Yesterday there was jolly holly and a scintillating star and blushing berries and a captivating candle, but today -- nothing. But us.
You got me, Alicia. That woman took pictures of us half a dozen times in the past ten days, so why would she decide to use this picture today?
I heard her muttering "emergency Blip, emergency Blip" -- I bet it has something to do with the stack of Christmas cards she hasn't written yet, and the thank-you notes for that pile of gifts, and the end-of-year solicitation letters to review, and that table still piled high with stuff, and the dreary dark weather.
Maybe if we're really good, that woman and that guy who got her into this Blipfoto thing will decide to celebrate New Year's Eve right here and turn on the gas fire, pop some champagne, put out smoked salmon and chocolate, and invite us!
[That woman was inspired by PaulFS, but does not have his comedic flair. She did, however, manage to throw in a shadow for chaiselongue, a challenging feat in feeble winter light. The birds are for emyjane and any other Blippers more than ready for some brighter days!]
