Christmas Book Group meal (2)

Tonight was the Christmas meeting for my second book group. Our book was Scoop by Evelyn Waugh. An interesting read but shocking for the casual racism and derogatory words that I'd not heard in about 35 years. Interesting topic though given all the publicity about the conduct of the press in recent times. Some very funny bits too. I think I last read this book when I was about 14 and I think a lot of it passed over my head.

We were joined by some other mums from my second son's first primary school class. Fun to catch up and find out what all the kids are up to now.
