Karen

Some people are just special. Doesn't matter how long it is since you've seen them, you meet them and it's as though all the time, the years that have passed, just melt away.

I have a number of friends for whom that is true, that distance and time stops a physical connection with them, but does not sever the connection between our hearts and minds.

Karen is a colleague from a former school. We lost touch when I left, 9 years ago next Easter, and I often wondered how she was doing. We got back in touch a few months back, via facebook (love it or hate it, it connects people) and today we met for chat chat chat and coffee.

Karen exudes energy...she's amazing. I was looking forward to spending some time with her, but had no idea how therapeutic that time would be. She's a giver, a listener and is full of drive. She's charged me up with ideas and sent me home full of energy, mentally at least.

She will also talk to absolutely anyone!!!

She'll probably not thank me for the photo - we were in a lovely pub, but the lighting was shocking, but I think you can tell how lovely she is even from a poorly executed portrait!

So Karen, thank you a thousand times...I think we should arrange a regular meet and not lose touch again.
