Memory Lane

Took 'Mother' on a trip down memory lane today. During the war she worked at the Air Service Training School at Hamble and last year this tribute was erected to recognise the men and women who worked there. It features a stainless steel model of a spitfire mounted on a block of Welsh slate.
More details here if you're interested!
She thoroughly enjoyed her day out - she celebrates her 92nd birthday in a few days time - and told us many tales of her time in Hamble.
After watching the sun set over the Southampton water we took her back home where she made us a lovely cup of tea (served in china cups) but before we left she handed me a stack of papers for me to read later - they contained - errrr - adult humour!! What a character!!

By the way - she's not really my mother, but likes us to call her that as we treat her far better than any of her four children!
