The Abominable Snowman
This story about a yeti finger was on the BBC yesterday and there was a programme about it on Radio 4 which was quite good.
The finger was part of a hand, supposedly belonging to a yeti which had been kept in a monastery in the Himalayas. It was smuggled out of India in the 1950s and then got lost and only recently rediscovered. It has since had all sorts of forensic tests done on it to find out what it is.
Sadly they concluded it was human although maybe Yetis are so closely related to humans that it is hard to tell the difference. Yes? :-)
We visited an exhibition of animatronic monsters a couple of years ago in Newcastle. One of the monsters was supposedly a Yeti but its fur was white. We asked about this and were told that it had originally been brown as fitting the description of the Abomniable Snowman but people complained about it and it was changed to white! Stoopid people.
