Morning

This is more like it - the view from my bedroom window at 9.30 this morning. I know it looks weird, the contrast of the dark land and sea and the bright sky, but that's how it is up here at this time of year!

A lovely day, my last before I go back to Edinburgh (or at least that's the plan - the forecast is for more gales so I might get stuck). Visited my superstar pal Nicola for lunch, had a joint birthday party for my nephew (twelve yesterday) and my nieces (seven on 2 January) at my sister's (complete with cakes iced by their favourite auntie), then played board games until some neighbours came along for a dram. Sad to be going back tomorrow, the time's flown by...
