After the hamam
A quiet day today in preparation for the hamam... What a great experience! We visited a small hamam in Kardikoy, so we had to take the ferry to and from the Asian side of Istanbul. I was glad to go with a friend, and we muddled through the experience together. And I can wholeheartedly recommend the hamam! Afterwards we had delicious skewers of lamb and liver, followed by a very tasty (if rather strange) pudding called kunethe - a round pudding like crunchy shredded wheat with sugar and melted cheese. It sounds odd, but was yummy! This photo was taken on the ferry back, leaving Kardikoy.
