German Church, Stockholm
On the agenda for today was Tyska kyrkan (German Church) - Deutsche Kirche), sometimes called St. Gertrude's Church (Sankta Gertruds kyrka), is a church in Gamla Stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden.
The Lead Glass Windows are always the most fascinating to me! I can simply not get enough of them, there are lots and lots of examples of these works of art in this specific church as well, I wish I could show you all of them! Please see this link for more!! It is really worth it!
The next church on the agenda was Storkyrkan. Some of the treasures that can be found there: the dramatic wooden statue of St George and the Dragon, the 'Sun Dog Painting', the monumental pulpit by Burcherd Precht (1698-1702) and many more!
MissRAble and her family came over for supper tonight, M&Z treated us to traditional South African 'Bobotie' with Basmati rice, green beans cooked with potato and onion, and delicious malva pudding for desert! Another lovely evening enjoyed with our Swedish family! Thank you to all of you! We LuvvUAll, and hope to be able to entertain you all in South Africa one day!!
