Fire!

So thats exactly what it looks like-a palm tree on fire. I was down on the beahc, lounging, around 6ish, and felt a sudden urge to head back up. On the way up to the room I saw smoke and smelled something burning, but thought nothing of it, assuming somone was grilling. When I got up to the room I took off my shoes, then headed to the porch to hang my towel out to dry...only to be met face to face with our palm tree-on fire! At first it didn't hit me, "oh the palm trees burning" I thought. Then I realized what was happening, the thought registering, and I called to my dad, and he promtly called the fire department. It was from someone in the unit above us smoking and dropping the butt in the tree. How stupid! Its so hot, dry and windy here.....

anyway, I snapped this from inside while waiting for the fire department to come. Everything turned out okay, but thank goodness I decided to come in when I did!
