Boxing Day at Blenheim
Well after yesterday's epic foodfest we definitely needed to walk it off today and so a lovely jaunt around Blenheim Palace's grounds was chosen for a change from last year's snowfield trekking odyssey.
There's a lovely 4-mile loop around the palace grounds that we've gone on for Boxing Day walks a few times, with a good approach to the palace and views of the monument for the first Duke of Marlborough.
My favourite part of the walk is where I took today's Blip though, around the back of the palace in the grounds, where the river stretches out wide before thinning down (behind me in the shot) and feeding the lakes around the north side of the palace.
Plenty of wildlife to be spotted on the river today (two years ago it was a bit too icy), you can just about make out on the left a white swan being pursued by a black swan - they were having a right old chase that took them upriver behind us and then all then flying all the way back down again (after we'd walked on or I would have Blipped that - looked spectacular!)
