boxing day walk

into the derbyshire high peaks,
a walk,

part of which was through a cleared forest,
signs of recent activity with lone still standing
yet to become logs.

my accompanying thoughts were of writing more
about emily and her latest pursuit,
that of eating biscuits in a metaphorical kind of way.

after tea and mince pies,
we chanced upon the outcomes
of the forest clearing.

back to the sofa
and jane austin.
