Christmas Picnic at Barry Island

To try to avoid xmas a bit we drove in the gales and rain to Barry Island to eat our picnic on the promenade. Mixed root veg crisps, sandwiches made in home-made pittas, turkish delight, big flask of tea and christmas pudding with custard (that neither of us liked, but it was a present so we at least had to try it). We got there not long before it started getting dark, which it did early due to the thick clouds. But all in all it was a rather nice excursion and we had a walk along the beach in the dark too.
