The temperature rose to about 50 degrees Fahrenheit today so we went for a long walk down to the Missouri river and round about the still deserted blocks of downtown. The only people around looked like they might have few other options of places to go. "Merry Christmas!" they greeted us as we walked by. "Merry Christmas!" we called back.

Yes, it is merry indeed.
