Drakensberg Holiday Day 2

Today was going to be a day filled with adventure.

We decided to do the Tugela Gorge Walk. A plus/minus 14km walk, which required 5 -6 hours. We had a backpack packed with snacks and water, but when the heat started beating down on us, I wondered if I would make it and if we had brought along enough water. As we were nearing the end of the trail, we still had about 1km to go before the turn around to head back - the weather moved in and it started to rain softly. Not a comforting thought when I had my camera with me and a few of my other lenses. Thankfully my camera bag comes with a weatherproof cover.

As the weather can change quickly in the Berg, hubby made the call to turn around. So, we never made it to the end and I never got to see the Tugela Falls - the second highest in the world. Next time.

The trail goes through a Protea belt and I had so much fun photographing them. This is one of my favorites.
