These little Santa's have been on journey in recent times. They now sit infront of my in laws television for the festive period. However this was not always the case.....
Originally they belonged to my Gran who passed away some 8 years ago. She used to hang them across the front of her gas fire and were one of the last christmas decorations she bought before she passed away. My Gran never met my now husband 'Mark' and I know she would love him. Infact I have never met anyone who doesnt like him. He is a smile on your face, skip in your step sort of person and he embraces life. My gran lived a very quiet life. There was always just her, my mam and me. She lived on her own, liked a word search and watched prisoner cell block H on a littleblack and white tv. I often wish she could have met my new family, and see how happy I am. So when i came into my in laws this morning it made me smile to see these Santa's on the floor. Anne and Philip dont know the house they came from although they know that they belonged to Grand. Similarly she never saw were they ended up. They had no sentimental value at all. They havent been in my family since I was born or anything - but I love how they have suddenly become sentimental. For me they are a symbol of change, a respect for the past and a smile for the future.
Merry Christmas Gran xx
