Fermented skate

This is fermented skate, salt fish, butter, potatoes, and rye bread (cooked in a geyser). Traditional Icelandic cuisine with the most horrible smell you can imagine. It smells of ammonia and after eating it our clothes stinks !!!
I only eat this once a year and I went to the nearest restaurant instead of cooking it myself. Cant bear the smell in my house for few days afterwards.

Úlfur didn't taste it, he said it smelled too bad - he got mashed fish instead :)
