my eyes they cannot lie

Reintears

Busy day today, took the girls to the library so I could drop off the last gifts and cards for my friends at work.

Found out that the girls were not with me from 12 on Xmas day and won't be home till late boxing day. I shed a fair few tears as it's the first time without them, but I know they will be having a ball and it's just how things are now. Lily and I have already decided to hit the bottle, chocs and spend the day in our PJ's.

FAB.

Did the usual mad dash for CORRECTLY worded xmas cards..it HAS to be 'Nana and Grandad' but I couldn't find any cards nice enough- so desparate measures were called for and we made cards.

But, how lovely - a nice reminder of their little hands.

I did clay prints of their hands a few Christmas's ago with this poem. Nana ran out of the room in tears. Good tears. I had a lump in my throat when I read it again tonight!

"Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.

But every day I'm growing -
I'll be grown some day
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away.

So here's a little handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small
"
