A bit of Edinburgh skyline

A bit of skyline looking up Princess Street most notable of the buildings are "National Monument" the acropolis like building better known as Edinburgh's disgrace. It was meant to be a monument to the fallen in the Napoleonic wars but the funds ran out. Next along is Nelson's monument, completed in 1816. Thirty six years later a large ball was added. This ball is raised and then dropped at 13:00 GMT so that ship captains could set the time (as it was visible from the Forth. Next is the Balmoral Clock, this clock is next to Waverley railway station. The clock is set 2 mins fast in a bid to get people to the station in time to catch their trains. Then we have the top of the Scott monument, in memory of Sir Walter Scott.
