An eye for an eye....

Hi everyone

Firstly can I thank the lovely Lilythelab for giving us a big wave and for sending some of her fans over to say hello! It made me feel really welcome and am feeling the love! And I am flattered that anyone wants to see my pug pics and read my blog :) so thanks sooooo much!

Let me tell you all when Esmé was just six weeks old little Rolo had yet another ulcer in his remaining eye (this is his third in his one eye that is left) it was so stressful to say the least rushing up to the specialist in Bristol sometimes twice a day, with a newborn - horrible.

Anyway it was the worst kind a melting ulcer, and we medicated it with his own blood which was spun up into a special medicine. It looked like it was improving when things started to go wrong and it turned really nasty. We had a very difficult decision to make to operate, or to risk leaving it and getting better on its own. Both were risky but we went for surgery and had an eye graph.

I took this photo of him today as you can see a very clear v area on his eye, this is where they placed healthy cornea over his eye ulcer, and it will always leave a scar. But you know what, I love him soooo much I don't care that he isn't a champion like his dad because he is my champion. He has been through SO much in his little life and that makes him my hero.

But enough of the dark tale, guess what he made it!!! :))))

We got our letter from petplan today, wow thank GOODNESS for insurance!! The claim has been approved *wipe a bead of sweat from my brow* as this time is was £4000.

The only problem is walking him in the dark as he bumps into things (lamp posts, bins and other things) but they really do adapt don't they. And he has buttons to help him along in life.

Lots of love
Jemma
