No snow, but a lot of ice

It rained all night. In the morning, the sidewalks and stairs were ice rink. I "skated" to an appointment that was on a third floor, and after I managed to make my way down without falling (a bit feat!), took this picture of the Mont-Royal.

Lea and I are really, really ready for snow. A friend from New York sent me a picture: there is snow on the ground there. None here. How about a bet?: it will not snow in Montreal until January 5th, date at which I will have arrived in New York for the next three months. And, there will not be any snow in acceptable (to me) quantities while I'm there. Grrrr!
