What a difference a good night's sleep makes. Possibly helped by the weather staying mild - at least 10 degrees C. As xb points out on his Blip, things were so different at this time last year.

Woke and arose well before the alarm, and headed off early. Left the car at work, and took a wander around town with that fisheye lens. Had been a bit disappointed with a couple of things I tried yesterday, but it was very different today. What a hoot! Such an amazingly wide angle of view, and s-o-o-o much distortion. Great fun, and somewhat spoilt for choice as to what to use for today's Blip. A few other imperfections here too - some "ghosting" from the lights, being the most obvious.

Something to watch for when using a lens like this in portrait orientation, as here, if you tilt it the least bit down the way, your feet will appear in the frame! Beginning to appreciate the camera's 100% viewfinder. All my previous cameras didn't quite show everything that was going to be captured - there was a thin strip around the edge that would be "added"... and might need to be cropped out later.

Was it the weather, the time of year, or some combination of these and other factors? Everyone I passed by seemed to be cheery, and shared a hello, or good morning wish. A good start to the day.
