sunny solstice Scarborough

On the day of the Winter solstice, it was unseasonably mild in Scarborough today, 13c, marvellous! Some youngsters were even paddling in the sea, while another family was happily digging in the sand, building sandcastles. The smell of Spring was in the air. I felt a touch of sunburn too!
After the miserable freezing cold and snow this time last year (check out the year old blip), I'm dreaming of a mild Christmas, unlike the one we used to know...!
