There's a hole in......!

Afternoon all

There better not be a hole in anything lol ......although I cant help sing the song in my head when I see the name of the ship!! ;0)

This is the Eliza berthing with the assistance of the Hopetoun aft (pulling) and the Dalmeny forward (pushing), to receive 2 million barrels of Scotlands finest. When commissioned, the Tug Hopetoun was the largest Inland Water Tug in the World.

Most Ships come in portside too.......to you landlubbers thats left hand side to the terminal as your looking at this pic!!! Most Tankers come in that way. Eliza is coming in Starboard side too. Once she's filled with 2 million barrels, in weather we've had recently, we dont want to be trying to turn her. She'll be sitting 20metres deep at least!!

Its hard to believe, Eliza is quite small compared to some ships we get in. We can take ships up to 300,000 Gross Tonnes, she's only just over 160,000 Gross Tonnes. 333metres from front to back.....sorry fore and aft !!! 60metres across!! Totsy !!!!! ;0)

Enough shop talk.......

Last shift before Christmas !!!! Back on Boxing Day, nightshift.....booooooo!!!
Hoping Santa's wrapped my presents up nice......."I SAID I HOPE......"...Santa's not listening!!! Need to scream a bit louder as I'm sneaking this on at work (again).....(whisper).....said I'm sneaking this........shhhhhh ;0)

Have a great evening ;0)

TTFN ;0)
