St Nick

My Christmas tree Blip.
Here he is looking a bit lost and wondering where his reindeers have gone.
We have a great familiarity with St Nicholas as he is named after the church near our house in Chiswick and he was allegedly born very near our holiday home in Turkey, a place called Myra, where there is an old Christian Church and a shrine to him. Every year bus loads of Russians come to pay their homage to him and buy icons by the truck load. As the legend goes he used to visit the homes of the poor children in the dead of night and leave gifts for them. Today he'd probably get locked up for being a pervert!
