Another world

"Rule number one" says my housemate Conn the Cook "is don't wait for people on your morning off", I think he sensed my itchy feet as I paced up + down willing the others to sort their kit out so we could go for a virgin voyage in a new skiing area. First morning off what seemed like an age + though completely shattered I was determined to nail first lift, but my eagerness to ski with new buds was more dominant, so we pootled up for a few hours in the early afternoon haze. There was a hint of a break in the clouds + we all rejoiced + explored Le Tour as best we could. But would you believe, there has been T O O much snow resulting in most of the runs being shut + lifts cranked to a stop for risk of serious avalanches.. I thought this lift looked particularly dreamy, if not a bit sinister : enticing you to skim aboard for it to extract you from the land that you know + slice your soul to enter another world that awaits. Perhaps this is an idea for a new film, either that or I'm discovery a form of religion out here at altitude..

We have been so lucky to have such a bloody excellent huge family here in our first fumbling week; Conn and I had a great time lavishing the guests with his gastronomically gracious cuisine. We've slipped into a nice routine of bringing home luxurious leftovers back to the pad + eating delicious food late at night. A habit, although sumptuously wonderful, that will no doubt result in an increasingly ginormous Dan and Anna. Regretfully though, it has deemed impossible to maintain a newly but firmly established veganism which had become a passionate way of life. Another moral quandary that I'm facing out here in this different world. I'm even getting bullied for being vegetarian ; "fucking vegetarians" say the chefs.
