Getting near harvest time

Its almost ready to cut, i can remember when i was young that around this time we,d get ready to watch out for the time the combine harvesters turned up and we,d spend the day , with a packed lunch, and help with all sort of jobs.
I suppose its mostly health and safety, but we would follow the men round till we.d done all in our area.
I dont think is interseting enough for the youngest today, but they will never know what they missed. I hope at least somebody out there remembers the same thing.
