Baddeck Harbour.

I am often struck by my absolute fortune to be living in such a beautiful place. Having lived in a few different places: Toronto, Hamilton, Muskoka, south west Ontario...and now Cape Breton Island, they all have their special place in my heart, but Baddeck has to be one of the prettiest villages so far! Opps, forgot to mention Edinburgh of course...but that was long ago and far away!

Had to head into the village today to post various parcels to my family....but before that, i had a lovely visit with Matte (son of Scott), at the Bean There.
What a hive of social activity that place is right now....especially in the mornings. It's the only coffee house open at this time of year and it is such a lovely place to hang out! Met up with various folks - everyone with a 'christmas' agenda, but not too stressed out to stop at the Bean for a coffee and something delicious to eat!

Then i did a bit of shopping...just looking for a few extra's to put in stockings....and into Aphrodite....what a delightful place it is! the woman who owns it, i think she is Korean, has such a bright and beautiful presence - always singing along with whatever music is on the cd player....carols at this time of year of course. There are only a few stores still open in the village and this is one of them! After some snopping about i got a few things....and after paying for them...she offered me a chocolate....now that NEVER happens in Walmart i'm sure!!!

Home now and i'm going to wrap most of the presents - i'm not usually this organized! there must be something major i'm forgetting !
