Good Luck !
2-08 The coastguard page the St Ives lifeboat manager with a "Launch Request". It is a time critical issue and speed is of the essence.
2-10 After a quick assessment of the problem he gives the order to launch the ALB (All Weather Lifeboat)
2-15 I get to the boathouse and the crew are already changed and getting on board
2-16 the tractor starts to push the lifeboat on its carriage down the slipway
2-17 the boats hits the water, both engines go to full power and she leaves the harbour with a wake behind her nearly as big as the boat
9 minutes is pretty damn good, considering the crew are all volunteers and have other jobs, they have to get to the boathouse in a town that was never designed with cars in mind, change clothes, the boat has to be pushed to the water by tractor
here is the full launch sequence
I don't know the rest of this story yet but will add it here when I find out. For now I will just say Good Luck to the crew and I hope their task is successful.
NB - Before they left the bay the boat was stood down by the coast guard, so all ended well, no one was hurt, the crew got some exercise and now all are back home drinking tea :-)
